It's a distinct art style in that game, which lends itself well to exemplifying what I'm talking about. VC4 looked better because it was originally designed to be 1080p, but it still lost some of that hand drawn feel with the increased resolution. They 1080p remaster everything looked off because it was so sharp. Example of what? How sharpening a scene can make it look worse? Best and most distinct example I can think of is Valkyria Chronicles.
Company I work for did tests to see if people could tell the difference on a bunch of various graphics things, and most couldn't tell the difference unless it was a faster style game. Given the choice, I'd take better image quality over twice the number of frames.
I don't think it feels more cinematic, I just feel that a game like Persona, which isn't really a fast paced game on the graphics side of things, benefits from having a higher frame rate. 'The idea that only fast paced games benefit is a myth.' Is it? Because unless it's a fast paced game, I can't tell any difference, and neither can most people.
